Guest Speakers: March Guild Speakers: Our very own Mickey Murray Moor and Teresa Sparks

Program: Mickey and Teresa will be speaking on “Yours, Mine and Ours.”  They will have a trunk show showing how similar quilts with different fabrics look so different while also showing individual quilts.  Both Mickey and Teresa are members of Busy Bees and Piedmont Piecers Quilt Guilds.

Program: Creating Batiks with Bees Wax and Hand Carved Blocks - Batik lecture / Demo

Place: Fountain Inn Activity Center NOTE: THIS MEETING WILL BE IN THE GYM UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTIFIED

Join a professional batik artist and see how these beautiful fabrics are made, live and in person! Jessica Kaufman has her Masters degree in Crafts Education and owns a hands-on textile dyeing studio in Asheville, NC. Her focus is on Indian woodblock batik, and will spend an hour demonstrating how the blocks work, explaining her wax and dye system, and talk us through the steps required to produce these one of a kind wax-resist fabrics. There will be a mini trunk show featuring purchasable sets of handmade fat quarters, made by Jess in her studio, washed and ready to sew with. The program is approximately 60 minutes long.

BBQG Quilt Show Guild Planning Meeting

Topic: First 2026 Quilt Show Meeting. We are interested in hearing from our guild members at this meeting. What you liked, didn’t like or ideas you might have for the next show. Do you want to volunteer but don’t know what positions are available, what would be expected, or what position would be a good fit for you? This is the meeting to come to. We won’t be discussing these topics at regular quilt guild meetings. That is what this meeting is for. This will be the place to address questions. Please come let your voice be heard. Get your questions, concerns or ideas addressed. Anyone who’s worked the quilt show in the past will tell you this is a very fun event to volunteer for and we want to make sure everyone feels comfortable in the position they volunteer for. We need all the help we can get from the guild to make this another very successful quilt show.

Speaker: Sabrina Myers

Program: Sabrina Myers Presents “Doodling On My Bulletin”

Sabrina has been sewing most of her life but started quilting 40 years ago with the birth of her first child. Sabrina recalls she has always been a doodler, coloring in the O’s and the E’s on her church bulletin every Sunday. Her Dad said “At least it kept her quiet”. Sabrina will present some of her doodles and the art pieces that came from them. She will also share where she gets other inspiration for her pieces. Come hear her fun program and leave inspired.
